Majestuoso a cada paso, enérgico, de nobleza infinita en cada instante, así es el caballo español inmortalizado con tanto sentimiento… Y así es la fotografía de Ramón Azañón. Cuando me detengo a mirar sus fotos, siento como si me sumergiera a explorar un mundo en el que todo lo que reluce del caballo, todo lo que nos transmite y lo que llega en forma de fotografía a nuestras miradas; se hace palpable en nuestros corazones. Esta colección de momentos, de sentimientos, de eventos importantes ó de jinetes y amazonas en determinados momentos nos permite abrazar la fuerza y la sensualidad de cada instante, traducido por Ramón a sueños hechos realidad en la mirada del espectador.

Su fotografía pretende mostrar la grandeza y espectacularidad del caballo, de una forma distinta e inédita, algo a lo que no estamos acostumbrados. Fotógrafo y apasionado de la vida, le gusta pasar desapercibido detrás de su cámara, haciendo lo que más le gusta: crear un mundo nuevo y original por medio de la fotografía. Para él la fotografía social y en blanco y negro son su géneros favoritos dentro del gran mundo de la fotografía y aunque es más bien conocido como fotógrafo ecuestre, «no quita» que se le resistan otros temas.
«Me gusta adentrarme en lo más hondo de este maravilloso universo, procesarlo y mostrarlo al espectador en forma de arte», ese es el objetivo de Ramón. El cordobés busca una fuente de impacto visual, plagada de imágenes originales que no pasen desapercibidas a los ojos de nadie. Agradecido y privilegiado de poder estar tan cerca de los equinos y aprender cada día cosas nuevas gracias a las experiencias que se le brindan siendo a la vez partícipe de ello, nos hace revivir con sus imágenes momentos mágicos cerca de lo que más nos gusta: el mundo del caballo.
His photography aims to show the greatness and spectacular nature of the horse, in a different and original way, something we are not used to. Photographer and passionate about life, he likes to go unnoticed behind his camera, doing what he likes the most: creating a new and original world through photography. Black and white and social photography are his favorite genres in photography and although he is more well known as an equestrian photographer, he does not mean that he is resistant to other subjects.
«I like to delve into the depths of this wonderful universe, process it and show it to the viewer in the form of art», that is Ramón’s goal.
This Cordobés looks for a source of visual impact, full of original images that do not go unnoticed in the eyes of anyone. Grateful and privileged to be able to be so close to the equines and learn new things every day thanks to the experiences that are offered to him while being a participant in it, he makes us relieve with his images magical moments close to what we like most: horse world.
La Doma Vaquera y Rejoneo son dos disciplinas muy retratadas por Ramón Azañón, así como sus jinetes ó amazonas. Él cree que ambas encantarían a cualquier artista por la vistosidad y originalidad de lo que nos muestran, siempre haciendo uso de la tradición española mientras se funden arte, tradición y cultura. Numerosos rejoneadores y jinetes han sido el centro de atención de este coleccionista de momentos. Diego Ventura, Lea Vicens, Andy Cartagena, Sergio Galán entre otros han sido protagonistas de los instantes inmortalizados en tantas tardes de toros.

Entre las mujeres retratadas por Ramón Azañón podemos encontrar a la rejoneadora francesa Lea Vicens, amiga y musa del fotógrafo, el cual nos cuenta que uno de los momentos más bonitos que ha vivido ha sido la salida a hombros de Las Ventas de Lea. Para él un hecho histórico pero que se une a muchos más momentos que ha vivido junto a la rejoneadora. Se conocieron en el patio de caballos de la plaza de toros de Córdoba y a raíz de un reportaje que le hizo ahora les une una bonita amistad. En ella ve mucha armonía, belleza y plasticidad, una persona con un gran potencial que no ha podido escapar a la cámara de Azañón. Tras ella su sueño realizado de ser rejoneadora y su gran lucha en este mundo del caballo a base de esfuerzo y dedicación.
Among the women portrayed by Ramón Azañón we can find the French rejoneadora Lea Vicens, friend and muse of the photographer, who tells us that one of the most beautiful moments she has lived has been the departure on the shoulders of Las Ventas de Lea. For him a historical event but one that joins many moments that he has lived with her. They met in the horse yard of the bullring of Córdoba and as a result of a report that he did now, they are joined by a beautiful friendship. In her he sees a lot of harmony, beauty and plasticity, a person with great potential who has not been able to escape to Azañón’s camera. Y si hay algo que pueda extrañarme, es que su amor incondicional al caballo no le haya hecho subirse a uno y disfrutar de un nuevo horizonte, pero ello le hace sentir más respeto y admiración por todos los que se suben a uno.
De momento su lugar es estar junto a ellos retratándolos, compartiendo con aficionados y no aficionados la grata experiencia que nos regalan los caballos. Para él es un mundo realmente emocionante y motivador.

And if there is something that may surprise us, it is that his unconditional love for the horse has not made him get on one and enjoy a new horizon, but this makes him feel more respect and admiration for all who get one.
For the moment, their place is to be with them, photographing them, sharing with all fans and non-fans the pleasant experience that horses give us. For him it is a really exciting and motivating world.

Y si hay algo que podemos destacar de Ramón a la vez que extraordinario fotógrafo ecuestre es la humildad de poder fotografiar cualquier acto sea del nivel que sea, pero siempre cerca de nuestros amigos los equinos. Cómo anécdota cuenta que puede estar fotografiando en la Madrid Horse Week y al día siguiente en cualquier pueblo perdido de España haciendo fotos de cintas. El hecho de retratar personas anónimas también es algo que le atrae bastante, sacando el alma de cada momento y de cada persona que le muestra su atractivo.
Pero el amor por la fotografía y la equitación no son sólo la única afición de Ramón, si no que el dibujo y la pintura cubren parte de sus ilusiones y alegrías. Se describe como un pintor frustrado, puesto que su amor por el arte es incondicional y parte de su vida. Ligado al arte de una forma u otra, cabe decir que es un gran mediador, por saber transmitirnos tanta pasión y amor hacia el caballo, y a la vez llenar de sueños nuestros ojos y nuestros corazones, traduciendo en imágenes lo que el siente o ve.
And if there is something that we can highlight about Ramón as well as an extraordinary equestrian photographer, it is the humility of power. But the love for photography and horse riding are not only Ramón’s only hobby, but drawing and painting cover part of his illusions and joys. He describes himself as a frustrated painter, since his love for art is unconditional and part of his life. Photographing any act whatever the level, but always close to equine friends. As an anecdote he tells that he may be photographing at Madrid Horse Week and the next day in any lost town in Spain taking pictures of «cintas». The fact of portraying anonymous people is also something that attracts him a lot, drawing the soul of each moment and of each person that has its appeal.
Linked to art in one way or another, it must be said that he is a great mediator, because he knows how to transmit so much passion and love towards the horse, and at the same time fill our eyes and our hearts with dreams, translating into images what he feels or sees.
It’s hard to write a blog post when you don’t know if the words that describe it can live up to what the images make us feel. But that’s what I like about photography, that it can overcome words, feelings and even memories. I have to say that I had a crush on Ramón’s equestrian photography, even before I met him, perhaps because of my love for this art and the power it has to transmit in this world. The image is everything and if that image transmits and makes you feel something, then the objective has been achieved. As for Ramón, I can only say that the short time I spent with him showed me his naturalness and kindness in just seconds. Beyond the professionalism of each one, there is the quality of the person and that of Ramón is far above his photographs (and see that it is something difficult). From here I would like to thank you with all my heart for your collaboration in this post and i hope that very soon we can see each other again. Thank you with all my heart and that you continue to give us so many moments where our eyes magically become yours.
Es difícil escribir una entrada del blog cuando no sabes si las palabras que lo describen pueden estar a la altura de lo que las imágenes nos hacen sentir. Pero eso es lo que me gusta de la fotografía, que ella misma puede sobrepasar palabras, sentimientos e incluso recuerdos. He de decir que tuve un flechazo con la fotografía ecuestre de Ramón, ya antes de conocerlo, quizá por mi amor también a este arte y al poder que tiene de transmitir en este mundo. La imagen lo es todo y si esa imagen transmite y hace que sientas algo, entonces el objetivo se ha cumplido. En cuanto a Ramón, solo puedo decir que el poco tiempo que coincidí con el me mostró su naturalidad y bondad en tan sólo segundos. Más allá de la profesionalidad de cada uno, está la calidad de la persona y la de Ramón está muy por encima de sus fotografías (y mira que es algo difícil). Desde aquí agradecerte de todo corazón tu colaboración en este post, y espero que muy pronto podamos volver a vernos.
